“I know I’m a few months late on this.. but please forgive me, as my blog has only been up for about a month… And must I make one more thing clear – the purpose of my blog, unlike most is not to be the first to break a new story, shoe, song or artist, but rather to share with you all things relevant and what I feel influential or just plain interesting… good, got it, thanks! Anyhow, so I was in the barbershop flipping thru Details Magazine and ran across one of Tom Ford’s new ads for the summer… It was the one above with the cat in the khaki suit…. I was like damn! “I gotta get that suit!”… I think in the back of my mind when I get dressed to step out, maybe subconcsiously, I really do picture naked birds flocking, lol!… But it was more than that… something about the ad was just craaaazy! And no, not just having a naked woman in a picture can make an ad sexy and impactful as we’ve all seen corny ads with naked chicks and rims… need I say more…
Photographer Terry Richardson who’s had some phenomenal work in GQ has always been a favorite of mine. When I saw the ad, Terry came to mind but I wasn’t sure if it his work… Anyhow, when I found that he was the cat that shot the campaign, it all made sense… Tom Ford and Terry Richardson came together and two brilliant minds mixed sex and immagination with fashion in a way that was just plain fly to me.
